La Costita, Nueva Cocina Mexicana strives to integrate pre-hispanic ingredients and cooking techniques with contemporary trends in modern Mexican cuisine. Dramatic presentation, multifaceted flavor and inspiring dishes of original and new fusion Mexican cuisine keep our customers satisfied and anxious to return!
Jaime Soltero Sanchez and his wife, Francisca Garzon started La Costita in 1992. Talavera tiling and terracotta pots with long stemmed plants draped in multiple archways decorated the original restaurant. Mouth watering aromas of arroz con pollo, fajitas and burritos filled the conventional cocina.
In 2003 Jaime and Francisca passed the reins to the next generation of family entrepreneurs, their eldest son, Jaime Soltero Junior. At this time the first Costita location underwent extensive remodeling and was transformed into La Costita, Nueva Cocina Mexicana, now located within the Barbur Shops. Upon entering, one is greeted by a majestic yet serene sounding waterfall, and simple yet modern décor that allows the food to shine!
